A spellbinding journey into the mind of an insomniac, who spends each night haunted by strange and wonderful illusions from another world.

The shadows of screams climb beyond the hills. It has happened before. But this will be the last time. The last few sense it, withdrawing deep into the forest. They cry out into the black, as the shadows pass away, into the ground.

Ravaged by a debilitating illness, the Toxic Man sets out to stop the cabal of scientists and bureaucrats responsible for his metamorphosis in a surreal stab at vengeance.

In the future, a second great flood covers most of the known world. Country borders collapse and language barrier disappear. All salvageable books are taken to a deep underground vault facility for protection. Run by priests, the facility is called The Stacks. As Olivia wanders the facility she discovers that she may not be alone and that a dark part of her past may have followed her into the narrow corridors of this inescapable purgatory.

A negative free and playful sitcom is hijacked by an entity daunting a pig mask, as it tears apart the mindless glee hiding the real horrors.

The impetus to making the film was the book of the same name by the Russian religious philosopher Vasily Rozanov, who died 100 years ago. His treatise was devoted to the study of sexuality and its denial in Christianity. The film was made in the style of experimental films of the 1920s with a non-linear narration full of strange surrealistic images. He is black and white and devoid of dialogue. Filmed on film 16 mm of firm "Svema", released in the USSR. This added to his exoticism. The image was put to the music of Alexander Scriabin “The Poem of Ecstasy” (1907).

To prevent himself from going insane in isolation, a young filmmaker conjures up an idea about a demented experimental director who tries to convince his harshest critic to enjoy his work.

Begotten is the creation myth brought to life, the story of no less than the violent death of God and the (re)birth of nature on a barren earth.
