Tally Atwater has a dream: to be a prime-time network newscaster. She pursues this dream with nothing but ambition, raw talent and a homemade demo tape. Steven Russell leads a seemingly average life – an organ player in the local church, happily married to Debbie, and a member of the local police force. American-born Anna Vorontosov teaches school in a remote, primitive section of northern New Zealand.
