Drei Mann und eine Sommernacht

The film is a reportage showing the help of workers from the GDR in the industrial reconstruction of Syria. We witness the friendly relationship between workers from both countries, who are jointly involved in the construction of the cotton spinning mill in Homs. In impressive pictures the exoticism of the environment and the mentality of the Syrian hosts is shown. At the same time it becomes clear that the workers from the GDR become 'ambassadors of the GDR' through their collegial behaviour and good work.

Bony, a great-great-grandson of legendary part-Aboriginal detective Napoleon Bonaparte. Albert Harris had been a teenager when he knew Napolean; decades later, as a tribal elder, he had tracked and rescued Napoleon's descendant from the desert, after Bony's parents had tragically perished. 'Uncle' Albert taught the young white boy the ways of the desert. Now in 1990, Albert stands beside the 22-year-old Bony as he is inducted into the Northern Police Force. Bony is sent to Woongala. His first case concerns Angela Hemming, the young American wife of the district's most influential landowner. She claims that a Ned Bowen had attempted to rape her, but that she hadn't pressed charges on the condition he left town. Non of this rings true to Bony and he begins to investigate.

When National Guard soldier Samantha Harrison returns from the front lines of Iraq, she realizes that none of her training helps her deal with PTSD or the struggles of returning to a normal life. Samantha comes home to find out she's being blamed for a friendly fire incident that killed two Americans and she becomes the target of an obsessed soldier seeking revenge for their deaths. She tries to reassemble her fragmented memories of that horrific night in order to convince everyone, including herself, that she didn't do it. Who do you turn to when you can't trust your own memories and the few people you do trust are being killed off one by one?

Lizzie is a young piano teacher working at a music school while trying to save enough money for a Steinway piano. The school is gearing up for their major Christmas fundraiser and she has committed much of her time to plan the event. When she comes to she has complete amnesia and a friendly passerby takes her in. As time passes she still doesn’t remember who she is and the friendly passerby, a widower himself with three kids, assimilates her into his family. But as she slowly starts remembering who she is, she prefers the new life she’s built in the small town.
