Interesting to see a story told from the Jewish Danish perspective of WW2 plus the debut of a young Jane Seymour in her first major film role but this unfortunately must be one of the most boring war drama's ever put to screen. Static camera movement, a cast speaking predominantly in proper English (not a hint of a Danish accent), and a story where everything goes almost perfectly for the protagonists and there's not much here to get excited about. Even the score is fairly droll. One of the main characters is a violin maker and you would think that would feature some way in the music but no. With so many amazing WW2 films out there, this one's hard to recommend. Avoid (unless you're Danish or a huge Jane Seymour fan).

This is quite an interesting depiction of the activities of the Danish underground during their WWII occupation by the Nazis. It centres around the Jewish "Stein" family, and of the attempts by the courageous local population to shelter them, and to help them escape to safety. It features a gently engaging performance from a young Jane Seymour, and a host of Danish talent that add authenticity to the piece. It is a little light-weight at times, but the narrative makes no bones about the attitude of most of the people to do what they can to thwart the ambitions of their overlords - and that story is riddled with bravery and potency. The production is a bit limited, it can't have had much of a budget, but what we have here is food for thought, especially for those of us whose nations did not find themselves with unwanted house-guests during the war.
The Invisible Man's grandson uses his secret formula to spy on Nazi Germany in this comedy-thriller.
Director Quentin Tarantino tasked Eli Roth to craft a mini-movie called Stolz der Nation (Nation's Pride) that will be included in the theatrical cut of Inglourious Basterds. To help promote Inglourious Basterds via the film-within-a-film, Roth has slapped together a trailer for Nation's Pride blending black and white photography with modern multi-layered camera effects.

Berlin, 1943, during World War II. An American gambler masquerades as a Catholic priest during the fall of Manila early in World War II in the Pacific to obtain clearance to fly out on an official military transport. Five American showgirls wrangle a pass with the aid of a helpful U.S. Army colonel to leave on the same plane. Ironically, the transport crashes at sea. The gambler and the girls wind up on a Japanese held island. Initially, they stay out of sight from the enemy, but inevitably things change.
In 1942, a convoy of 35 civilian ships, carrying vital supplies from Iceland to the Soviet Union, faces deadly challenges in the Arctic. Despite Allied naval escort, catastrophic intelligence errors expose the convoy to relentless German air and naval attacks. In the brutal conditions, inexperienced civilian sailors fight for survival, with only 12 ships making it to their destination.
The film is set in a signalman's house during the German occupation. When it turns out that the mother has committed adultery with a German, things start to go downhill for the father. Germans take over his land, and his children fend for themselves.
