Wealthy Shankar and well-educated Suresh are cousins and the best of friends. A marriage is arranged for each of them (Shankar's with Madhumati, Suresh' with Shanta), but Shankar's father is against the couples meeting in person and instead each cousin meets with the other's intended. During the meeting Suresh falls in love with Madhumati and scheme switch brides. But his innocent scheme has unforeseen circumstances as Shankar's marriage quickly turns sour because Shanta despises him for being uneducated and blames him for tricking her into marriage.

He eventually gives in when Rashmi insists on marrying Rahul...

Arjun Pandit is a 1976 Hindi movie starring Sanjeev Kumar, Ashok Kumar, and Vinod Mehra, and directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Bindu, Deven Verma, Sachin, and Keshto Mukherjee play other roles in the movie. The film's music is by Sachin Dev Burman.

Shekar has moved to Mumbai from his home in Punjab and has fallen in love with Nisha. However, he is called back to his home to hear that his disabled sister is to marry a young man named Harpreet, but on the condition that Shekar marry Harpreet's sister. But in order to satisfy her dad, she persuades Raj to pose as a Gangster for time being. For this they search a Trainer called Subramaniam (Johnny Lever), who teaches Raj to act as a Gangster. Finally Raj becomes successful posing as a gangster but Bhangari's dad (Kader Khan) somehow appears and doesn't want Kiran to marry to a gangster. Will Raj be able to clean his image?

Born in West Bengal, Subhrojeet Chakraborty re-locates to Mumbai, to work with Lalaji Telefilms as a Creative Head Director. He meets with the Executive Director, Anekta Kapoor, and after going through various formalities - including having his Kundali/Astrological Chart approved - he is hired and instructed to increase the firm's TRP's with a good day-time soap. With all ideas already being telecast by Ekta Kapoor and Balaji Telefilms, he is at a loss and encounters writers' block. This issue resolves itself after he meets with his neighbor, Sumana Roy Chowdhury, and decides to write a story about the two of them. His work is accepted, initial episodes are telecast, and the ratings do surge upwards - but not for long - as soon Sumana finds out, confronts him, the duo find they are attracted to each other and get married. The question remains: with the two getting married, how will the show and the remainder of the episodes proceed?
