Transferring the setting of a brooding Hungarian play, Carousel, to a remote fishing village, shaping their vision around themes of brutality, poverty and disappointment, Rodgers and Hammerstein composed some of the most glorious music ever written for the stage.

Recordings of all the Beethoven symphonies with their chief conductor are always a milestone in the artistic work of the Berliner Philharmoniker. So it was with Herbert von Karajan and Claudio Abbado, and expectations are correspondingly high for this cycle conducted by Sir Simon Rattle. Where does the special status of these symphonies come from? Simon Rattle has an explanation: “One of the things Beethoven does is to give you a mirror into yourself – where you are now as a musician.” In fact, this music contains such a wealth of extreme emotions and brilliant compositional ideas that reveal the qualities of the orchestra and its conductor as if under a magnifying glass.

On April 30th 2013 millions of Dutch people dressed in their national colour oranje gathered all around the Netherlands with Amsterdam being the capital of the celebrations. Of course the coronation of Willem Alexander and his wife Máxima was the occasion and a highlight of that unforgettable day was a very special concert that André Rieu, the undisputed King Of The Waltz, gave in honour of the royal couple and the Queen for 30 years, Beatrix. On the world renowned Museum Square in the heart of the city André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra entertained the audience for almost 100 minutes making the city waltz and swirl. The program features classics like Time To Say Goodbye , Don t Cry For Me Argentina and of course the title André wrote for the new King, the Coronation Waltz .

CeeLo Green's "Loberace - Live In Vegas" is an electrifying, musical journey into the colourful world of CeeLo's brainchild, "Loberace" filmed live at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. It's packed to the rafters with girls, glamour and glitz, with CeeLo Green as the ringmaster of this technicolor circus.

The premiere of the world tour "La vie est belle" was one of the finest outdoor theaters in the world, the Waldbühne in Berlin. Backed by a choir, an additional percussion ensemble, 300 bagpipe players, a brilliant light and laser show and fireworks. Andre gave one of his most spectacular concerts ever.

Here in Times Square is a concert television special featuring American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys. Recorded at Times Square in New York City, the concert featured Keys and various guests performing songs from Keys sixth studio album Here (2016) and her previous albums, as well as covers. The concert was directed by Hamish Hamilton and recorded on October 9, 2016. It aired on BET in the United States on November 3, 2016 and later in other countries. The concert featured guest appearances from a number of artists. Q-Tip, Nas, Questlove, John Mayer made an appearance and Jay Z joined Keys for a performance of "Empire State of Mind" (2009). Keys was joined on stage by her band and background singers. Tickets to the concert were free. The event was sponsored by Olay and the Mayor's Office for Media and Entertainment.

Angel Bat Dawid - one of the great jazz discoveries of recent years as a guest at Chassol in Ground Control. Chicago-native Angel Bat Dawid is one of the many talents tracked down by the US label International Anthem. Together with trumpeter Jaimie Branch and drummer Makaya McCraven, Angel Bat Dawid ensures that the "Windy City" is on the radar for jazz all over the world. The musician switches between vocals, clarinet and piano with amazing ease. But apart from that, Angel Bat Dawid is able to breathe a highly spiritual dimension into her music like no other, so that her jazz almost borders on gospel. Listening to the multi-instrumentalist therefore sometimes has something of a transcendental experience, at times reminiscent of the music of Sun Ra. The American Beauty Association is about to hold its annual trade show in New York City and songwriter "Tiny" Lewis (Billy Gilbert) has just sold a song to Ina Ray Hutton ('Ina Ray Hutton'), the leader of an all-girl band headlining the show. Lewis shares an apartment with Bradley Miller ('Ross Hunter') and Michele (Fritz Feld), an artist, and Miller has just invented a non-staining lipstick called "Rosebud." Preparing to get a booth at the show, Miller is told by J. Webster Hackett (Alan Mowbray), a very devious "Cosmetics King,", intent on selling a big lipstick order to buyer Edgar Pomeroy (Thurston Hall), that it will cost him a $1000 to join the association and get a booth, which is about $999 more than Miller and his roomies have between them. But Miller's beauty-parlor girl friend, Janet Wilson ('Ann Savage'), meets factory-owner P. G. Grimble (Hugh Herbert), and money is soon no issue.

"Ciao, 2021!" - New Year's edition of the Evening Urgant program, aired on Channel One on January 1, 2022. The release parodies the festive concerts of the Italian pop music of the 1980s and the tradition of the Soviet and then Russian "Blue Lights". All participants in the program - presenters and performers - have stylized Italian names and pseudonyms. Communication takes place in Italian and is accompanied by Russian subtitles.
