Anna lives with her father Karl someplace in the outskirts of northern Norway. Karl killed his ex-wife and threw her newborn coloured child into the sea when he discovered that she obviously had been unfaithful. Now Karl is being haunted by her ghost and is developing a serious drinking problem. Anna is looking for the love of her life, but there aren't many bachelors around - until they discovers another small family on the other side of the mountain. They meet a semi-alcoholized widow on Karl's age, her son Peder, and her black adopted son, Ante, that arrived from the sea on a piece of wood.

After the passing away of his son and Caucasian daughter-in-law, London-based widower Purshotam Agarwal brings up his granddaughter, Namrata, on his own. When she matures, he pressurizes her to get married to Tikamgarh-based Ranveer's son. She travels to India, and much to his chagrin refuses to get married to the boy of his choice, and instead brings back a wealthy male named Romi, who she claims is her fiancé. Little does Purshotam know that Romi is not who he claims to be, and that Namrata has no intention of marrying him either.

While in Canada Timmy and Lassie encounter a downed hot air ballonist. By accident they end up in the balloon which takes them into the wilderness. The young boy and his dog must find a way to survive even fending off a wild pig.

Charlie needs some friends fast, and decides that the best way to find them is to appoint himself the resident psychiatrist. Thomas Palm (Åke Söderblom) has recently been promoted at work at The Royal Canal Office. He celebrates with his friends on a night out and on the way home he saves a woman from drowning. The woman's name is Dolly (Marguerite Viby), an out of work actress, who won't leave his side and this gets him into trouble when he is about to get married in a couple of days.

A bitter family battle ensues between a father and his sons when a businessman makes a deal that entices farmers to sell off their properties.
