A celebration of the finest performances and appearances by the New Romantic sensations on the BBC. They came out of Birmingham in the early 80s, took over the world, and helped define the look and sound of an entire decade. Although pioneers of the pop video age, this collection of hits and rarities – from Planet Earth to Ordinary World and beyond – captures the impact and excitement of their music on a huge selection of BBC shows, from the Old Grey Whistle Test to Wogan and, of course, Top of the Pops.

In December 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic, TesseracT created the magnificent P O R T A L S a cinematic live experience like no other that took livestreams to a new level by interspersing a conceptual storyline with live performances that featured an arena-style light show. Combining off-kilter riffs, soaring melodies and disorientating atmospherics, P O R T A L S contains 14 songs that span the band's entire career.

In February 2017, Journey went to Japan for a special show at Tokyo’s Budokan that featured a complete performance of 1981’s Escape and 1983’s Frontiers at the request of legendary Japanese concert promoter Mr. Udo in honor of his 50th anniversary in the business. “There’s a few songs I don’t even recall playing, like [the Frontiers track] ‘Troubled Child,” Journey guitarist Neal Schon told Rolling Stone at the time. “Digging back into that stuff has been a lot of fun.”

The legendary Willie Nelson is in fantastic form on this 1990 Austin City Limits performance. The DVD includes his classic songs, Whiskey River, On The Road Again, Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain and Always On My Mind. The DVD also features a couple of duets with Shelby Lynne. This DVD includes performances that have not been available until now.

This all-star cast is framed by Peter Hall’s gritty, realistic production and conducted by James Levine, who brings out all the surging emotion and gripping drama in Bizet’s score. At the center of the story is Agnes Baltsa, whose smoky mezzo is tailor-made for the gypsy Carmen, an independent woman who glories in obeying only her own rules, but who is haunted by fate. Superstar tenor José Carreras is Don José, the solider from a small town who catches Carmen’s eye and is destroyed by his growing obsession with her. Samuel Ramey is the charismatic matador Escamillo, who lures Carmen away from Don José with tragic result. Leona Mitchell is Micaëla, the simple girl from Don José’s hometown who cannot save him. Considering that Roxette is one of Scandinavia's most successful acts ever, it's about time a documentary on their phenomenal career sees the light of day. And considering that the group played in front of 1.5 million people in 46 countries during their sensational comeback tour 2011-2012, it's about time for a concert film that shows where this magnificently rejuvenated group stands today.
